Wani Ardy – Writes to Breathe

Wani Ardy is a Malaysian, born in Kuala Lumpur and raised in Subang Jaya. She did her undergraduate studies in Performing Arts and Creative Technology, subsequently functioned as a scriptwriter penning several programs for TV. She taught Film Studies and Basic English in a college before lecturing on Artistic Writing in a public university.

Currently residing in New South Wales, she is undergoing her postgraduate studies in Creative Writing. These transitions occurred yet she never ceased from writing. She writes poems, proses, songs, short stories, scripts… au fond anything that the heart tells; nothing Shakespearean. She writes to breathe, fundamentally.

She has been performing her original pieces since 2002, both individually and by group, here and there within Malaysia. Organized a few art events around Klang Valley, she now co-manages a couple of companies with loved ones: Aftertwelve Studio (live sound company) and Gravy Baby! (musicafe). As you may have listened, she is not a songstress. No record label and no album; just storytelling sessions that keep her contented.
